San Jose is about to see some new tea products in the coming year!  The World Tea Expo, last month in Las Vegas, also included a series of tea and tea product competitions, and the winners are introduced to the assembled attendees at the Expo.  Here are my recommendations for some of the current winning products that might do well in San Jose and the Bay Area:

TEAS’ TEA Low-Calories by ITO EN:  Low-Calories tea is a ready-to-drink tea beverage that is sold in plastic beverage bottles.  It contains 40 calories per serving, with 8 to 9 g of sugar.  This product tied for first place in the Tea as an Ingredient category.

Wise Man’s Caravan Chai Tea Body Lotion by Indie Tea: This is a body lotion that has Wise Man Caravan company’s tea in it, along with essential oils and other natural ingredients.  This product tied for first place in the Tea as an Ingredient category.

C+SWISS by Chill Drink: This is the possibly the world’s first hemp iced tea, packaged in biodegradable cans.  This product tied for first place in the Packaging category.

Chaitea by Gourmetti Brands Inc.: This is possibly the world’s first green tea and aloe vera drink.  This product tied for first place in the Open Class category.

Incredible Lid V2 for Hot Beverage by Idea House International, Inc.: This is a new design for a reusable tea cup lid that won’t pop off the cup and spill the tea.  This product tied for first place in the Open Class category.

Look for these products in San Jose-area Asian grocery stores, Safeway supermarkets, specialty stores like Cost Plus World Market and, of course, tea shops!
